My Nikons and Canons have not had this issue. The daguerreotype was the first commercially viable photographic process when it was introduced to the world in 1839. Its rear screen tilts down by 45°, not 90. It had their first large BSI sensor (RX100 II), and their first large stacked sensor (RX100 IV; ahead of the A9). Maybe this was done just to streamline production of the V and VI? Even tried the RX10IV for a couple of months, amazing autofocus, super handy lens, but in the end, I prefer the original RX100, actually ended up buying the 100-400 with 1.4 converter. Not a stupid question at all - and indeed the first one that occurred to me :-), On the bottom of the camera it is identified as (and I needed a magnifying glass to read this): "DSC-RX100M5A" - I have to assume that means it is indeed an M5A :-), BTW, on another topic. So I won't be able to create time lapse (without external tool) with V and VI correct? There’s hardly any info online about the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VA. But I haven't heard that many people (that I can recall) complaining about a camera having a grip and them not wanting it (having a grip that's too big or small is a different story I guess). I have been waiting for this for a long time...did Panasonic make a statement or is this a rumor? The fact it is a vA not a VII, suggests the updates are for production reasons, not for product improvement. They've already had that since the beginning of the RX10 and RX100 series. Who'd bring an intervalometer to a party, event, or any low-profile outings? I’m sure it won’t be much longer. The same thing happened when using the RX10: I end up just grabbing the A7RIII with either the 55 or 85 F1.8 in my little manbag. I think I'm beyond the return date window. Timelapse was "built in" if you had the app. Don't get me wrong, I'd /LOVE/ to have more M43 P&S cameras with 24-70 equivalent f/1.X-2.X lenses. In this week's Film Friday we join up with a group of Soviet climbers, prepping to summit Mount Everest. This may already have been corrected in the week since your comment - but looking at my brand new VA I have the menu selection ""Application" and within that I have "Time-Lapse", "Photo Retouch", "Picture Effect", "My Best Portrait", "Touchless Shutter", "Direct Upload" and a few others. The naming of the two types of app makes it difficult to make the distinction. As a neat little diffuser that has a gigantic impact on the quality of the light from a hotshoe flash unit, the Hähnel Lantern creates a dramatically wide spread of soft illumination. I'm a little irked that Sony did this. So the VI is basically a pocket sports camera, where all other point and shoots sometimes struggle with just people moving normally. This one must have been a borderline case for Sony.It is clearly done for production cost reasons, but should it be renamed or not? II has hotshoe...but everything else better from RX100 MK IV, You just said in one of your multiple posts you won’t buy this because you will get an “LX200 which is around the corner” and now you are interested in grips for this camera?? They thought they were going to rock the photography world by updating it but were actually screwing up. Les recruteurs aident à déterminer la qualité de votre personnel et donc la prospérité de votre entreprise. Why have you never commented on this strange deficiency in the entire line? It's pricey, but it's definitely a cut above the rest. The good thing about not having a grip is that I can decide whether I want one or not. The lens on the new model is 24-70mm f1.8-2.8 compared to 28-100mm f1.8-4.9 on the Mark II. I tried googling, but didn't find any previews of the VA yet. I have no brand loyalty when it comes to P&S cameras. There's a problem loading this menu right now. Damn shame. The Sony RX100 VII is a refresh, rather than full-scale upgrade of the popular RX100 series, but does this pocket-powerhouse do enough to tempt you? They should definitely put a fork in Roman numerals already. What is Sony thinking? . The RX100 series is not the size of an LX100, because this is a 1" sensor and not a M43 sensor.
